Invermere
Time in the mountains
Today we are going on a road trip with Blake’s parents and his sister, her husband and their two kids. We are going to spend four days in Invermere in the mountains.
Our mountain cabin is just like you would picture it: a wooden mountain chalet that looks very cozy from the inside and outside. It even has a hot tub in the backyard that we made use of every evening – it was awesome!

On the frozen lake
In the morning Blake’s mom made a very tasty (North American) breakfast with bacon, eggs and hashbrowns – Blake was in food heaven!
After breakfast we all went to Lake Invermere in town, which was completely frozen. Together with the kids we played on the frozen lake before we warmed up in the town’s bakery with some hot drinks and tasty goodies.
So much tasty food
Later we made a charcuterie board with different cheeses, meats, spreads and fruits which tasted amazing!
Afterwards we played some board games. And to finish off an awesome day, we all went into the hot tub again – loved it!

Starting the day with yoga
In the morning Erin, her dad and I did a yoga and meditation session. Why wait for the new year with the New Year’s resolution😉?!
At lunch we took the kids out for a walk in the forest. Afterwards we showed Blake’s family some photos of the first five months of our world trip, before hopping into the hot tub one last time. (We stayed in it until after midnight – we really did make the most of it.)
It was awesome spending so much time with Blake’s family. After all that was the main reason why we came back to Canada.
30/12/2022 From Invermere to Calgary
We had one last family meal together in the morning before hitting the road back to Calgary again (a three-hour-drive).
Keeping our tradition
Whenever I’m in Canada Blake and I made it a tradition that we are staying in Banff for at least one day. Unfortunately, this time we didn’t have time for it since we made family time a priority. But on the way back from Invermere we stopped in Banff to at least drive through the town. I loved it!
In the evening Erin, Michael and the kids came over for take-away dinner and to show them the rest of our photos from our world trip.
